Front-end file uploads for WordPress
Let visitors upload files from any page, post or sidebar widget — into your Media library, or straight to Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Amazon S3 or an FTP server.
What it does
A form on any page
One shortcode, or a Gutenberg block. Add your own fields, filter by size, extension or user role, and run several forms in the same post.
Files go where you need
The Media library, a NextGEN gallery, an FTP server or a cloud account. Large files upload in chunks, past the server’s own limit.
You see what arrives
A file browser and activity log in the dashboard, email notifications on upload, and a viewer your logged-in users can see too.
What it looks like
Set-up and reference
- Install the plugin with the WordPress auto-installer, or download the .zip file from wordpress.org and install it from the Plugins section of your Dashboard.Or copy the
wordpress_file_uploaddirectory into thewp-content/pluginsdirectory of your site yourself. - Activate the plugin from the Plugins section of your Dashboard.
- For an upload form, go to Dashboard / Settings / Iptanus File Upload and follow the instructions in Uploader Instances.

- Open the page in your browser and you will see the upload form, or the list of files.
- View what has arrived from the Uploaded Files item in the Dashboard menu.
- Change the upload directory, or any other setting, from the small edit button at the top-left corner of the upload form.It opens the plugin options in a new window. If nothing appears, allow pop-up windows for your site.

The plugin requires to have Javascript enabled in your browser. For Internet Explorer you also need to have Active-X enabled.

Hi, I’m the Pro version with Buddypress, I’ve added a file list to each member’s profile and it’s working fine except you have to be logged in to see them.
I need the files to be visible to logged out users (i.e. public) but ONLY files uploaded by the member whose profile you are currently viewing. So, for example, when you visit user01’s profile (e.g. http://www.domain.com/members/user01) you will only see files uploaded by user01, but do not need to be logged in to see them. Currently if I’m logged in as user01 they show just fine, but not if I log out.
I’m guessing I can achieve this with the userdatafilter but not sure what variables to use?

Hi, unfortunately it is not so simple. Every user needs to have its own specific shortcode to include the username in it. The easiest way to do this automatically is to edit the template that generates the user profiles. How did you add the file viewer’s shortcode in the member’s profile?

How to I replace the BASIC with the PRO version I just purchased?
Hi, just install the Pro version from the zip file. Before you activate it, you need first to deactivate the Free version. You will not lose any settings you have already made.

Hi, this is more of a pre-sales questions if you don’t mind.
I would like users to be able to upload a file (within their profile form) and have these files only visible by that user (and admins) but essentially the files need to be linked to that user only.
Is this functionality possible with your plugin? I note it says attached to Pages/posts so wasn’t sure how suitable within a form.

Hi, the Pro version has 2 file viewers:
– one in the Dashboard for logged users who can view their uploaded files (only their own files)
– one that can be added to any page or post and by default it displays the files uploaded only of the current user (but can be configured to do a lot more).
