WordPress File Upload plugin is back in the listing of wordpress.org, with a new name, after a suspension that lasted more than 6 months.

From major version 5 and on, the plugin is called Iptanus File Upload. The change of its name was done to better align with the strategy of Iptanus and also with WordPress policies.

The plugin went through a long auditing process from wordpress.org experts, for ensuring that it meets all required legal and security guidelines. This process led to a complete renovation of the plugin’s code.

Despite the fact that the auditing process was performed on the Free version of the plugin, all relevant changes have also been applied to the Professional version.

With these changes, Iptanus verifies its commitment on the continuous support of the plugin and its adaptation to the increasing cybersecurity demands.

Version 5.1.3 of the free version is already available through wordpress.org.

Version 5.1.3 of the Professional version will become available in a few days, after Iptanus has finalized rebranding of the plugin in the website and in Iptanus plugin servers.

Please note that the plugin’s price and licensing policy will change in the next months.

  • Super plugin, I have used this for about a year, so thank you. However, did you know there is a bug in the new version 5.1.3 with WordPress 6.8.3 ? The problem is the file uploader becomes invisible on the page the shortcode is embedded on. I thought clearing cookies worked, but it didn’t. I have gone back to the old version which is working fine. Would you have a solution? Thank you, Shaun

    1. Good morning, are you using any cache plugins? If yes, try clearing the cache. It worked for many users that upgraded to the latest 5.1.3 version.

      Best Regards

  • Hi Sorry to confuse, reading it back sounded like it was fixed, it’s not.

The new version don’t work with current version on Kinsta hosting.
    Cleaned cache and cookies.

    Thank you

  • I have fixed it by deleting the instances and recreating a new. I can;t get it looking the same, but it works, so I’m happy. Thanks for helping. Great plugin. thank you.

  • Hello,

With the latest version of Iptanus File Upload Pro, after uploading a file of any size, I receive the following alert:

The upload time limit of PHP directive max_input_time is preventing the upload of big files. PHP directive max_input_time limit is: -1 seconds. To increase the limit change the value of the directive from php.ini. If you don’t have access to php.ini, then add the following line to your .htaccess file: php_value max_input_time 500 (adjust the time according to your needs) The file .htaccess is found in your website root directory (where index.php is found). If your don’t have this file, then create it. If this does not work either, then contact your domain provider.

Leaving this issue aside (which I will probably solve with my domain provider), I have noticed that I no longer receive the email notification at my address, even though the files are uploaded correctly.

Is it possible to still receive the confirmation email even when this type of alert appears?

It seems that the email is not being sent because there was a “problem” with the upload process.

    Thank you very much.

    1. Can you check in the plugin’s Dashboard area if the license of the plugin is Ok? This alert is not expected in the Pro version.

      Best Regards

      Nickolas

      1. I confirm that the license is valid, but unfortunately, I can’t forward you the screenshot.

The plugin is installed on a single website, and the issue did not occur before the update.

I’m available for any further checks.

        Thank you very much.

          1. I tried performing the following steps:

            – Cleared the cache (using the official cache deletion plugin, which is the default for IONOS domains)
            – Deleted and recreated the instance, but I’m still experiencing the same issue.

I look forward to your feedback.

            Thank you.
