Please note that the new version 2.2.1 of WordPress File Upload plugin has just been released.

This version includes a file browser, so that administrators have easy access to the uploaded files, instead of using an FTP client. Additionally, an attribute has been added, medialink, which allows uploaded files to be included in Media of the WordPress website. Also, there are some bug fixes.

Free users of the plugin can download it from wordpress.org, or by clicking straight here, or by performing update of the plugin through their Dashboard.

Users who have purchased the Professional version of the plugin can download the latest version by logging into their Iptanus account, selecting the order and downloading the new file.

  • CONTROL PANEL not working.

    WP is installed in sub-directory Genealogy, not in the site root at RussPerry.com but the WordPress File Upload Control Panel page links all look for /wp-admin/options-general.php in the site root (RussPerry.com) which produces the following error message:
    ” The requested URL /wp-admin/options-general.php was not found on this server.
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.. ”

    The address bar on the browser (“http://www.russperry.com/wp-admin/options-general.php page=wordpress_file_upload&action=edit_settings”) shows that the plugin is ignoring the “General Settings WordPress Address (URL)” which is set to “http://www.russperry.com/Genealogy” and the “Site Address (URL)” whicn is set to http://www.russperry.com/Genealogy” on the “General Settings” at “http://www.russperry.com/Genealogy/wp-admin/options-general.php”.
    I have searched for where the addresses on the control panel links is being built in all the plugin files but can’t find it. (If I knew where it is I could fix it.)
    (By the way, although the “File Browser” and “Base Directory” links were producing this same error before the last update the “Shortcode Composer” link was working and I the shortcode I built before the last update:
    [wordpress_file_upload uploadpath=”uploads/user_uploads/%username%” uploadrole=”administrator,contributor,webmaster” uploadpatterns=”*.pdf,*.txt,*.jpg,*.jpeg,*.png,*.bmp,*.avi,*.doc,*.flv,*.gif,*.jpe,*.mov,*.mp3,*.odt,*.rtf,*.tif,*.tiff,*.wav,*.zip,*.mp4″ maxsize=”9″ createpath=”true” showtargetfolder=”true” dublicatespolicy=”maintain both” uniquepattern=”datetimestamp” adminmessages=”true” debugmode=”true” placements=”title/selectbutton/filename/uploadbutton+progressbar/message” errormessage=”ERROR: File %filename% was not uploaded” notify=”true” notifyrecipients=”Russ@RussPerry.com” notifyheaders=”User File Upload” notifysubject=”User File Uploaded” notifymessage=” This is an automatic delivery message to notify you that a new file (%filename%)has been uploaded by %username% at %filepath%%n%%n%” widths=”selectbutton:50, progressbar:30″ heights=”message:50″ filebaselink=”true”] is still working even though I uninstalled, re-downloaded, and re-installed the plugin.)
    Also the “Base Directory” field “Current value” is empty and always was.

    Any advice?

  • Hi,
    is it possible to personalize “Success Upload Message” in free version?
    I have [wordpress_file_upload uploadpath=”../download” uploadrole=”all” uploadpatterns=”*.zip” maxsize=”500″ placements=”title/filename+selectbutton+uploadbutton/progressbar/message” successmessage=”File http://www.arcaportal.com/download/%filename% uploaded successfully.” widths=”progressbar:600px, message:610px”] but the message is always standard.
    Thank you.

    1. Hi, just checked. This seems to be a bug. I will have it corrected in next version (in a few days)… thanks for the feedback….

      1. I’ve installed version 2.2.2 but I have the same problem: standard “success upload message”.
        Thank you for yours attention.
        I await your instructions.
        Bye

      2. wfuprocessfile.php line 326:

        $file_output[‘header’] = preg_replace($search, $replace, WFU_SUCCESSMESSAGE);

        I think it is:

        $file_output[‘header’] = preg_replace($search, $replace, $success_message);

        Correct? I can not change it. thanks

  • Hello – I just purchased the pro version 2.2.3 and was happy to see that indeed it does support uploading of large files and multiple files. But when selecting multiple files, only ONE file name appears in the upload filename box and this makes people think that they are only uploading one file when in fact multiple files have been and will upload.

    Can that box be changed to reflect the names of all files selected?

    Also, the PRO version is said to support “It includes details and progress bars for each file individually (Professional version).” That was not my experience. I saw only one progress bar. Maybe there are more and only visible in the drop down message bar. If that is the case – can that drop bar be left open? As is, you need to click it open to see the full detail message.

    Finally, when uploading a large file the progress bar does not work as expected. Each time I have tested it the upload eventually works but the progress stops part way and never finishes making you feel the process has stopped for some reason. Then eventually the whole process completes. I am sure this will make people uploading large files nervous and attempt uploading their files again even though the process was working. have you seen this? Any fixes coming?
