If you’ve used Iptanus File Upload for a while and the website looks unfamiliar, that’s deliberate. We’ve rebuilt it.
The site has been growing since 2013, alongside the plugin itself. Thirteen years of release notes, tutorials, troubleshooting guides and feature write-ups — a genuinely large library, and most of it still the best answer to the question it was written for.
What it deserved was a better way in. So we’ve rebuilt the site around finding things.
Here’s what changed and where everything lives now.
The knowledge base is organised
This is the big one. There are 51 articles, and they’re now grouped by what you’re actually trying to do:

We’ve also surfaced the most-read articles at the top, because it turns out most people arrive with one of the same three questions.
The pricing page now shows everything
Pricing details used to live in a few different places. They’re now on one page, with the complete feature comparison — all 32 features, and exactly which of them are in the free version and which need Pro.
Fourteen are free. That includes the Material UI theme, the visual editor, additional form fields and webcam capture. The free version has no time limit and no file size cap, and it isn’t a trial — plenty of people run it for years without paying us anything.
Two reference pages that didn’t exist before
The plugin has over fifty configuration options. The visual editor has always been the quickest way to explore them, and now there are two written references to scan alongside it:
Every setting on the upload form, what it does, what it expects.
The same for the file viewer and browser.
Release notes in one place
Every version, in order, with what changed in each. If you’ve ever wondered whether a bug you hit last year was fixed, this is now a thirty-second question instead of a search.
A page about security
Uploads are the one part of a website where a stranger writes files to your disk, so it deserves more than a paragraph. There’s now a dedicated page covering how the plugin handles file type restrictions, quarantine of suspicious uploads, captcha, and GDPR.
And a page about who’s behind it
Iptanus is one engineer, with a team assembled when a project needs one. After thirteen years it seemed reasonable to say so somewhere.
One thing worth repeating: the plugin has a new name
WordPress File Upload is now Iptanus File Upload.
Same plugin, same wordpress.org listing, same settings, same everything — just the name. Nothing you need to do, no reinstall, no migration.
We mention it because a lot of articles around the web still use the old name, and people occasionally think they’ve found a different plugin. They haven’t. If you’re searching for it, either name will get you there.
What hasn’t changed
The plugin. Version 5.1.10, released this month. The free version is still free with no limits. Pro is still €40. Support is still in the WordPress.org forum, and it’s being answered.
